My Zest for Shimmery Sparkle

   Quarantine life has me savoring for a daily zest of shimmery sparkle. So I started in June of 2020, and became a qualified Stella & Dot Brand Ambassador in 60 days.

My daily shelter in place #OOTD have consisted of an ensemble of Stella & Dot metallics, leather, a wellness stone, and a Stardusk necklace. All in which elevate my daily mood in my quarantined lifestyle during this pandemic that we are all currently experiencing.

Ninna Lu | A Photo Retrospective: September 2016

 

   Wow! It's been quite some time since my last photo retrospective blog post. My last blog post was on August 2015. As today is the first day of autumn, I am thinking back with crazy amazement on how life can just pass us by in a whim and that I need to be mindful and slow down. I need to stop and smell the roses, so why not I reminisce. Here is my 2016 September photo retrospective.

 

   Our Labor Day weekend started off with a casual walk with the pups at Roseville's Fountains. The weekend ended with a 90's neighborhood block party and I paid tribute to my 90's with my cassette tape leggings purchased from LuLaRoe. It was also the start of Oliver's week and half visit with the pups.

 

   The hubby's birthday weekend started off with some veggie picking at the Davis Ranch Produce one Saturday morning. We picked over one hundred and eighty pounds of squash, green beans, zucchini, corn, pumpkins, cantaloupe, watermelon, tomatoes and peppers. A group of us gathered together on a Saturday to pick for a couple hours under the sun. I had plenty of tomatoes to make enough roasted tomato pasta sauce for the week's meal plan. I gave so much away to my in laws and my parents as well.

   On the day of the hubby's birthday, his parents came into town and we walked around Old Town Sacramento right before his birthday dinner. It was a good time of day to take pictures like a tourist.

 

   So I thought I'd explain for a moment and as you can see on the side bar of the blog, I've added on lifestyle brands such as Tupperware. I love the brand so much and that its become so much a part of our lifestyle that I've decided to become a Tupperware consultant. It's nothing but fun ever since I joined a local team and I have enjoyed the many perks of getting free Tupperware as well as enjoying the great discounts on new Tupperware items.    I am hoping that I am pretty well prepared for the holidays. Below is a picture of goodies I have shipped for my Dad, to help with his scalp irritation. Essential oils have also become a part of my lifestyle and would love to share its great qualities with others like my immediate family and friends.

Beauty Cream Essentials for My Aging Skin

 

   I used to be content with my one face cream skin remedy that would last me all day in my 20's and 30's. My skin has dramatically changed now that I've turned 40. I'm not sure if others at my age are experiencing a similar issue. If you do, please share in the comments below what you would recommend. I recently noticed these sensitive changes as I find a slight redness on my face which may be possibly caused from working in front of a computer all day, a couple extreme dry spots around the corners of my mouth from years of lip waxing, and also a dryness on parts of my face on certain times of the day especially around my forehead. When it comes to my skin, especially the face, I tend to do my own self-care at home with products that I love to use on a daily basis. Function:  The purified hyaluronic acid, which is naturally found in skin, acts as a sponge for dry skin cells. This provides me hydration throughout the day especially in the afternoons (my forehead) while at my desk at work and will give me a supple look anytime of the day. 

 

{No. 7 Beautiful Skin Night Cream Normal/Dry}

Price: $13.99 at Target

Function: I've never had to use a special night cream on my face until now. This night cream has the ingredient rosehip oil to lock in moisture while I sleep.

A Year of Birthday Surprises

  

 

   For my birthday this year, I indulged a bit on subscription boxes from fashion, lifestyle, beauty and stationery. Subscription boxes are these monthly goodies that come delightfully packaged and arrive once a month when you subscribe to it, which for some you can cancel anytime. I've been obviously unaware of the many subscription boxes out in the market. I only knew of Birchbox and that was it. So I did some researching and conducted some serious shopping. 

Here are some article links you can peruse so that you can choose according to your monthly budget. 

1) For a directory of subscription boxes and box reviews, visit the Mommy Splurge Blog. She has done all the research for you from monthly pricing, coupon codes and even organized the directory into categories from women, men, kids, lifestyle, crafts, etc. 

2) Business News Daily, BuzzFeed and Real Simple are just some of the many articles out on the web that lists their top choices. 

3) Instagram has so many subscription box subscribers that post their monthly surprises. One account to follow is @mysubscriptionaddiction. She subscribes to about 50 boxes and also provides reviews, a directory, coupons, deals, and a swap section for your unwanted products. 

4) Funny but if you need to justify your splurge, here is another article from Real Simple on How To Splurge Wisely. 

So are you ready to subscribe? I did! So which ones did I pick? Here they are below.

A) POPSUGAR Must Have Box - For $35 a month, I receive an item from each one of these categories: fashion, beauty, home, fitness, and many more. This lifestyle box contains items that women love which are hand selected by POPSUGAR's editor and team. So instead of subscribing to one product category, this box covers it all.

The next two covers the beauty department.

B) Ipsy Glam Bag - For $10 a month, I receive 4 to 5 beauty samples in a glam bag each month. When you join, you must follow their instructions on how to get off the waitlist. If you are still on the waitlist after you've followed all the steps, contact Ipsy Care. That's what I did and I was immediately off the waitlist. 

C) Walmart Beauty Box - It's free! But just pay $5 for shipping. This happens quarterly. Each new season (summer, winter, fall and spring), you get to sample beauty essentials sold at Walmart or Walmart.com. 

And lastly, this is my ultimate favorite. I have a fascination for pretty paper goods or stationery.

D) A Beautiful Mess Happy Mail - For $15 a month (you have to commit to a year), you receive $5o in retail value of colorfully printed cards, gift tags, stickers and more. Pictured below are some of what I received for the month of January. AND of course, I LOVE the dachshund card!!!
