Where has the time gone by? The months turned to years and next thing you know it's been a decade. Quite a decade it has been. This year as my husband and I celebrate our tenth year wedding anniversary in the month of May, I ponder at all the good memories and also recollecting on all the trials, tribulations, challenges as well as the lessons learned from them. God only knows what I would be without him.
I distinctly remember that whirlwind of a year in 2006, two months before the wedding, when it came time to purchase our wedding bands, I couldn't possibly afford to buy his wedding ring at that time. This year, to show my decade of dedication and to make it up to him, I finally was able to get him a special everyday wedding band that he can wear made of tungsten and Hawaiian koa wood. I couldn't wait to give it to him, I mean he deserved it after all these years.
Looking back at approximately two decades worth of togetherness, my husband and I have grown older together and still share many similar commonalities. I believe our bond is at its strongest. I am so very thankful that we also allow ourselves to have the right amount of space for each other to be our own individual person which to me is very important in our marriage. We truly are, at the end of day, better together.
